Kathmandu: Rajan Bikram Thapa, Chairman of the Nepal Insurance Authority, has stated that in alignment with the government’s vision, institutional governance will be implemented with high priority across the insurance sector as well.
“Good governance is the core agenda of the current government,” Thapa remarked during a brief conversation with Insurancekhabar following his appointment as Chairman. “That will certainly be driven forward across all sectors, including insurance.” Referring to the leadership gap at the Authority over an extended period, he shared that he has already prepared and submitted a comprehensive reform blueprint to the government aimed at reforming and promoting Nepal’s insurance sector.
He further mentioned that expanding the insurance market, promoting potential market segments, and updating policies and regulations in line with changing times remain high on his agenda. Additionally, he noted that there may be a need to restructure the organizational setup to keep pace with the evolving size and scope of the market.
