Oriental Insurance contributes Rs 20 lakh to Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund

Kathmandu. Oriental Insurance Company Limited, a non-life insurer of Indian investment, has contributed Rs 20 lakh to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Totan Chakraborty, Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Shirisha Marujolla and Senior Departmental Manager Man Bahadur Dhakal handed over a cheque to Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle on Monday.

While handing over the cheque to the Ministry of Finance, CEO Chakraborty said that he was proud to contribute to the Government of Nepal Fund under Corporate Social Responsibility during the time of disaster. He informed that the company has been contributing to the Relief Fund of the Government of Nepal under Corporate Social Responsibility in the past years as well.

The company had donated Rs. 20 lakhs to the government fund in Poush 2082 for the reconstruction of public infrastructure damaged during the Genji agitation of September 23 and 24, 2082. Also, on October 18, 2081, the company contributed Rs. 15 lakhs to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund, Rs. 10 lakhs for the rehabilitation of Jajarkot earthquake victims in February 2082 and Rs. 15 lakhs to the Samata Educational Guthi.
