Kathmandu.  KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu District Court has sought bail from businessman Shekhar Golchha, who has been charged under the Insurance Act and Securities Act-2063 BS.

A single bench of Justice Pratima Kumari Bhattarai issued the order to release Golchha on bail of Rs 10 million. The court has sought bail of Rs 10 million, including Rs 75 lakh in insurance and Rs 25 lakh in securities charge.

Earlier, the court had also sought bail from Deepak Bhatt and Shulabh Agrawal in the same case. The same court had sought Rs 20 million from Agrawal and Rs 1.5 crore from Bhatt for the insurance offence and Rs 2.30 crore from Agrawal and Rs 10 million from Bhatt in the securities offence.

He was arrested after a case was filed against him on the charge of misappropriating the amount of the company’s share investment by abusing his position as the chairman of the board of directors of Himalayan Reinsurance Company Limited.
