Kathmandu.Microsoft, the world’s leading technology company, has unveiled two important new AI features in its Microsoft 365 Copilot: Agent Mode and Office Agent. Targeted at the millions of users who use tools like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint on a daily basis, these features aim to help solve complex tasks using TAG_CLOSE_span_7 TAG_OPEN_span_7 plain language.
Changing the working style ‘Agent Mode’ Agent mode is specifically integrated into Excel and Word. This feature solves complex tasks asked by the user by dividing them into multiple steps via AI.According to Sumit Chauhan, Corporate Vice President, Microsoft, this feature is a new experience of collaboration between humans and AI.In Excel: It can automatically perform tasks such as data analysis, financial modeling, and report creation.In Word: It helps to easily combine content writing, revision, and professional formatting, making business documents faster and flawless.
Assistants in presentation and writing ‘Office Agent’ The Office Agent is an AI assistant working in Copilot Chat, which focuses exclusively on the presentation and document creation of PowerPoint and Word.This feature allows users to search for information on the web, adjust the style and tone of writing, and ask for clarification. Based on Anthropic’s state-of-the-art AI model, it auto-edits user demands, providing ready-made presentations and coursework.In a market like Nepal, where much of office work is traditionally done, Microsoft’s new AI tools can greatly benefit office workers and TAG_OPEN_span_6 TAG_CLOSE_span_6 journalists.
Nepali journalists can use AI to improve the speed and quality of their work when preparing reports, analyzing data, or preparing presentations. The use of these technologies has increased the possibility of expanding digital working style and personal efficiency in Nepal.Currently, these features are available on the web for licensed customers of Microsoft’s Frontier program and Microsoft 365 Copilot. Office Agent’s chat feature is currently only available to US users, but a desktop version will be coming soon.
