Kathmandu. Sharad Ojha, who has been suspended as chairman of Nepal Insurance Authority( INSURANCE AUTHORITY), has filed a case against the government in the Supreme Court.
A joint bench of Justices Hari Prasad Phuyal and Nityananda Pandey heard the writ petition. However, today’s hearing has not been held. The case was adjourned on August 12 and could not be seen on August 15.
Ojha was suspended from the post of chairman of the Insurance Authority after the Government of Nepal formed an inquiry committee questioning the conduct, efficiency and responsibilities of the post. Ojha has filed a joint writ against the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Singha Durbar, the Ministry of Finance and the Investigation Committee. He has also made chairman of the inquiry committee Krishna Giri and members Jeevan Prakash Sitaula and Kapil Dev Oli as defendants.
Ojha had filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court on July 12, demanding the cancellation of the suspension along with the cancellation of the inquiry committee. A division bench of Justice Abdul Aziz Musalman of the Supreme Court had issued a show-cause order against the Government of Nepal and other defendants on July 14.
