Kathmandu. The Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNIYF) Lumbini has visited the industries of Rupandehi and Nawalparasi. The forum concluded the study tour program on Friday with the objective of identifying the process of operation of the industry, management style and business challenges.
Suraj Upreti coordinated the industry study observation tour of the forum while more than 30 young entrepreneurs led by Rajan Kasju, president of the forum, participated. The team visited kpi helmet industry at Tilottama municipality-17, Gangolia and Asian concrete industry at Ramgram municipality of Nawalparasi.
Director of KPI Helmets Seema Basyal Pandey briefed the participants about the process of production, the way the industry operates and the business problems seen here.
She also claimed that KPI helmets, which came into operation in 2073 BS, are one of the leading industries producing high-quality protective helmets in Nepal. She said that the industry has been creating employment in the country by replacing imports. She informed that there is a plan to export not only for the Nepali market but also for the future. Kohinoor is the first manufacturer of helmets in Nepal.
Similarly, Asian Concrete Vice President Shyam Lal Jha briefed the participants about the state of his industry, production and expansion plans. Asian Concrete, which has made a significant place in the construction material sector, is currently contributing to various big construction projects in Nepal, he said. He also informed that the demand for it is increasing rapidly in the neighboring states of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar of India. He claimed that the industry has been adopting quality products, timely supply and competitive price policy.
Forum Chair Rajan Kasju described the visit as very informative and inspiring. “First-hand experience of local industries’ working styles, production processes and challenges will help create opportunities for long-term partnerships, business learning and new market expansion,” he added. It is believed that the industry observation tour program will help the young entrepreneurs to understand about the Nepali production system, communicate directly with the industry and develop new thinking. The forum has planned to continue such more visit programmes in the coming days.
