Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Two proprietors of Annapurna Sugar Mill have been arrested on the charge of taking benefits from sugarcane farmers by not paying dues of more than Rs 220 million.
The arrestees have been identified as Shailendra Gupta of Ramgram Municipality-2 in West Nawalparasi and Binod Sah Kalwar of Haripur Municipality-1 in Sarlahi district.
The duo has been arrested in connection with a case registered on the charge of taking criminal benefits of sugarcane farmers for a long time without paying dues of more than Rs 22 crore.
According to Nepal Police Headquarters, investigation has been initiated against them on the charge of criminal gains and necessary legal process has been intensified.
