Kathmandu. The newly appointed chairman of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) Dr. Newly appointed Chairman Dr. Gopal Prasad Bhatta paid a courtesy call on the Executive Directors of SEBON. On the occasion of assuming the office, President Gopal Prasad Bhatta congratulated him and wished him a successful tenure.
On the occasion, Nepal Merchant Bankers’ Association (NMPA) expressed the belief that Nepal’s capital market would become more effective, transparent and credible under the leadership of Dr Bhatta. President Dr. Expressing gratitude to Nepal Merchant Bankers’ Association, Bhatta pledged to continue dialogue and collaboration with the private sector in the days ahead.
On the occasion, the two sides also held extensive discussions on various contemporary issues related to the development of Nepal’s capital market. On the occasion, discussions were exchanged on the issues related to mutual funds, initial public offering and private equity to enhance the confidence of the investors, to create an investment-friendly environment and to make the capital market more dynamic and effective.
Both sides also underscored the need for strengthening investor confidence by enhancing market transparency, good governance and regulatory effectiveness. The meeting was held in a cordial atmosphere.
In conclusion, both Nepal Merchant Bankers Association and SEBON expressed their commitment to further strengthen mutual cooperation, coordination and continuous dialogue for sustainable, systematic and inclusive development of Nepal’s capital market.
