Kathmandu. Yoga guru Ramdev Yadav-led Patanjali Group has decided to invest in a non-life insurance company.
The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) has approved the acquisition of Magma General Insurance by Patanjali Ayurved and DS Group.
The regulator has given final regulatory approval for the deal worth about Rs 4,500 crore. This paves the way for Baba Ramdev-led Patanjali to formally enter the financial services sector as a promoter of a non-life insurance company.
In a stock exchange filing, the company said in a letter dated July 28, 2026, that the insurance regulator has approved the proposed acquisition of shares of Patanjali Ayurved Limited, SR Foundation, Riti Foundation, RR Foundation, Suruchi Foundation and Swati Foundation from existing shareholders.
