Kathmandu. With an aim to bridge the gap between academic learning and practical corporate experience, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed between Resunga Multiple Campus, Gulmi and Sun Nepal Life Insurance Company Limited, Gulmi Branch. The two organizations have signed this agreement to conduct student internship programs.
The agreement was signed in the presence of campus administration, insurance company representatives and students amidst a special ceremony held at Resunga Municipality-1, Tamghas.
Under this new partnership, undergraduate and postgraduate (especially management faculty) students of Resunga Multiple Campus will get internship opportunities in a systematic manner at Sun Nepal Life Insurance’s Gulmi branch. The program is designed to provide students with hands-on knowledge about the functioning of the insurance sector, corporate governance, financial planning, customer relations, and on-site operations.
Speaking at the event, Surya Upadhyaya, Campus Head, Resunga Multiple Campus, said that this partnership will prove to be an important step in enhancing practical knowledge, professional skills, and employment opportunities for young students in rural areas. The campus administration emphasized that practical experience is essential for students to successfully enter competitive professional fields with classroom theoretical knowledge.
Similarly, Santosh Kunwar Chhetri, regional manager and representative of Sun Nepal Life Insurance Company Limited said that the company is ready to welcome new and energetic talents to the students to learn skills with the objective of selling and acquiring administrative skills.
Speaking at the program, Nabin Aryal, chief of Gulmi Branch, said that the company is committed to provide training, mentorship and professional development opportunities to the youths in the insurance sector.
The agreement also covers areas of collaboration such as capacity building, career guidance sessions, and skill development workshops. Both organizations believe that this partnership will present an excellent example of collaboration between the insurance market and the education sector in the district and will create a competent workforce capable of leading the financial and corporate sectors of Nepal.
