NIBL Equity invests in Nepal’s first animated feature film ‘Lost in Mandala’

KATHMANDU: NIBL Equity Partners, managed by NIMBS Capital Limited, a subsidiary of Nepal Investment Mega Bank Limited, has announced to invest in Nepal’s first animated feature film ‘Lost in Mandala’. Equity Partners and Innocent Rain Studios have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to invest in this original film that is being produced in Nepal for a global audience. NIBL Equity Partners said that this investment will support the production of films in Nepal and various related activities.

Innocent Rain Studios is working on the project in collaboration with Lost in Mandala LLC, which was set up to co-produce the film ‘Lost in Mandala’. Under the proposed transaction agreement, NIBL Equity Partners has partnered with Innocent Rain Studios to invest up to Rs 10 crore. It plans to invest up to Rs 10 crore.

According to Siwant Bahadur Pandey, Chief Executive Officer of NIMBS Capital Limited, this partnership aims to promote Nepal’s animation industry and put it on the world map. He said that it is imperative to support the unique art and intellectual property that has global potential in our own country, and this partnership emphasizes that. He also said that the film ‘Lost in Mandala’ is an ambitious and original project, in which the local support from within the country will play an important role.

In the past, the company has supported ‘Lost in Mandala’, according to NIMBS Capital. Under this, the company supported the fundraising initiatives for this project and organized a special ceremony at QFX to formally present ‘Lost in Mandala’ to the invited participants and investors.

‘Lost in Mandla’ is an animated fantasy adventure film, which is created and directed by Kiran Bhakta Joshi. The film is produced by Deepa Chipalu Joshi. The film is inspired by the spiritual traditions, mythology and enchanting natural scenery of the Himalayan region. Made with a vision to showcase the stories of Nepal to the world, the film highlights themes of belonging, friendship, compassion and self-exploration in a world-class animation medium. The screenplay of the film is written by Jack Stentz, a renowned screenwriter who has worked on ‘Thor’, ‘X-Men: First Class’, Netflix’s ‘Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous’, etc.

With this partnership, NIBL Equity Partners aims to continue supporting the production of ‘Lost in Mandla’ and help bring it to audiences around the world.
