KATHMANDU: Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC) on Sunday handed over relief materials collected for the people affected by the devastating floods in the Bhotekoshi River to the Government of Nepal on Sunday.
Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC) senior vice-president and Disaster Management Council Chairman Deepak Kumar Malhotra led the delegation handed over the relief materials to the Nepal Police Disaster Response and Training Center, Samakhusi. The relief materials were handed over to the District Administration Office, Kathmandu by incorporating the materials collected by the Youth Chamber.
The relief materials provided by the Chamber include readymade shirts, beaten rice, biscuits, sanitary pads, toothpaste, toothbrushes, gloves and masks, T-shirt, lentils and other materials.
The relief materials handed over include 34 sacks of flattened rice and additional beaten rice, 80 cartons of millet biscuits, 83 cartons of maize honey biscuits, 87 cartons of Choko chips biscuits, 10 cartons of sanitary pads, 7 cartons of Ayo salt t-shirts, 1 cartoon of toothpaste, 2 cartons of toothbrush, 3 cartons of gloves and masks, 2 other t-shirts and 250 other t-shirts, 1 t-shirt with ‘Ox Food’ written on it 73 cartons and a small sack of lentils (10 kg).
Similarly, Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Leo District Council 325G, Nepal have collaborated to hand over various relief materials to the flood-affected people. These include drinking water, noodles, biscuits, toothpaste, toothbrush, soap, diapers, mattresses, medicines, sanitary pads, rice, clothes, gloves, and other relief materials.
Executive committee members of the Chamber Krishna Man Shrestha, Roshan Bhoedyo, Rujul Shrestha and others were present on the occasion. Similarly, the chamber has also made arrangements to order 500 units of solar power bank from India.
“The Chamber has been cooperating with the government in rescue, relief and rehabilitation as part of its social responsibility during the time of disaster,” reads the release.
According to the Chamber, relief materials have been collected from the members and entrepreneurs with the objective of providing food, clothes and health materials to the people affected by the floods, and this work will continue.
