KATHMANDU: KATHMANDU: Global IME Bank Limited has announced to contribute Rs 50 million to the Prime Minister Natural Disaster Relief Fund (PMLF) for the rescue, rescue and long-term rehabilitation of the people affected by the flash floods in the Bhotekoshi River.
The devastating floods in the Bhotekoshi River have caused extensive erosion and inundation in the riverbank areas including Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Gorkha and Chitwan, causing huge human and physical damage. Hundreds of people have lost their lives, many have disappeared and hundreds of families have been rendered homeless due to the strong flow of the river.
In addition, the river has caused unprecedented destruction by sweeping away local settlements, bridges, road networks and hydropower projects. Expressing heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and heartfelt condolences to the people who lost their lives in the floods and landslides, the bank has provided the assistance as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to help in the search for the missing, treatment of the injured, provision of immediate food and shelter to the affected and long-term reconstruction of damaged structures. The Bank considers social responsibility as its main duty to heal the wounds of the citizens in times of national crisis and disaster.
In the past, the bank has been continuously providing financial, physical and humanitarian support during the time of severe disasters like floods, landslides, inundation, earthquakes and pandemics.
