Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The District Administration Office Kathmandu has issued a 21-point directive in the name of private hostels operating in the district.
The administration has issued strict instructions in the name of private hostels after various types of incidents started taking place. The administration has also been monitoring such hostels from time to time on a regular and casual basis. According to the administration, some of the hostels received complaints were fined up to Rs 3 lakh and the hostels were sealed.
The directive was issued following complaints that the hostel was not treated humanely and tortured, charged more than the required fees, poor infrastructure, negligence in sanitation, lack of hygiene standards and weak security arrangements. The administration has also given a deadline to the hostels to complete the arrangements mentioned in this directive within a month.
