India slashes export duty on petrol, diesel

Kathmandu. The Indian government has taken a big decision amid the fall in crude oil prices.

India has reduced the windfall tax on fuel exports. The government has reduced the export duty on petrol, diesel and aviation turbine fuel (ATF).

This will come into effect from June 1 and will continue for the next 15 days. The export duty on petrol has been reduced by Rs 1.5 per litre, on diesel by Rs 13.5 per litre and on ATF by Rs 9.5 per litre.

India reviews the export duty on petroleum products every 15 days. This is decided on the basis of the price of crude oil.
