Kathmandu. Japan has opposed US President Donald Trump’s comparison of the recent attacks on Iran with the atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
“That (US strike on Iran’s nuclear site) ended the war,” Trump told reporters on Wednesday. I don’t want to give the example of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, but it was basically the same. ’
In August 1945, the United States dropped atomic bombs on two southern Japanese cities, killing nearly 140,000 people. Survivors of this attack are still living with psychological trauma and an increased risk of cancer.
Nagasaki Mayor Shiro Suzuki said: “If Trump’s remarks justify the dropping of the atomic bomb, it is very sad for us. ’
