Kathmandu. The Chinese government has introduced a ‘secret information’ service to prevent incidents of insurance fraud.
China’s National Healthcare Security Administration has launched the ‘Secret Information’ service. Through this service, the general public and social organizations will be able to secretly inform about the incidents of fraud related to suspected medical insurance.
Based on the impact and evaluation of such information, the government will award the informant a one-time reward of about USD 28 to $27,500. However, the award will be given only after it is confirmed that such incidents are genuine.
The administration has taken this step to prevent the increasing misuse and fraud of medical insurance in China. In 2024, there were $3.8 billion worth of medical insurance frauds in China. Chinese police had arrested 10,741 people involved in such fraud cases.
