Kathmandu. Raji Rana has donated Rs 10.9 crore to the Prime Minister’s Natural Disaster Relief Fund. This amount is one of the largest contributions made by individuals to the relief fund.
Rana, who has a business background, is 87 years old. Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle received the cheque for the amount sent by Rana through his aide Krishna Basnet at the Ministry on Friday.
On this occasion, the employees working in Rana’s office also handed over Rs 80,000 to the Finance Minister on their own. Rana has also made preparations to provide additional Rs 25 lakh worth of food and commodities. He has promised to provide assistance equivalent to this amount in coordination with the Ministry of Finance and Home Affairs.
