Kathmandu. The Nepal Insurance Authority (NEA) has appealed to all concerned to lodge a complaint if there is any problem in the payment of insurance claims. The Authority has published a notice today and called for this call in the context of receiving various complaints that some insurers, employees of insurers and insurance surveyors have acted in violation of the prevailing laws, regulatory provisions and professional code of conduct in the course of determining the liability of insurance and paying the claims.
If any insurer, employee of the insurer, insurance surveyor or any other party causes distress, has prepared false details, concealed or distorted the facts, made a biased evaluation, taken undue advantage or has done any other act against the concerned person to submit a complaint with evidence for action as per the Insurance Act, 2079.
While submitting the complaint to the authority, the complainant’s name, address and contact number, the name of the concerned insurance company, the details of the problem, the insurance claim number and insurance number and the confirming documents, photo, video or other evidences should be attached.
Similarly, the complainant can file a complaint directly at the registration section of the Authority or email: Sly2L. No. Lough, naked 2 lshb. No. Address of the Authority by Lou or Post: Nepal Insurance Authority, Central Office, Lalitpur Municipal Corporation. Arrangements have been made to file complaints at 10, Kupandole, Lalitpur.
It is stated in the notice that necessary action would be taken after conducting investigation as per the Insurance Act, 2079 and other prevailing laws by maintaining confidentiality of the complaints and evidences received at the NRA.
