Kathmandu. A delegation led by NADA Chairman Surendra Kumar Upreti met Director General of the Department of Customs Yamlal Bhusal on September 23 and held a detailed discussion on the damage caused to the automobile sector due to the recent floods in Rasuwa.
On the occasion, NADA Chair Uprety informed about the floods that occurred in different areas including Rasuwa and Timure on Bhadra 283 BS in view of the Dashain season, a large number of vehicles imported from China were swept away by the floods from the Rasuwa border point.
During the discussion, NADA General Secretary Milan Babu Malla said that more than 500 vehicles have been stopped at the China border due to the non-opening of the customs at the China border and requested for its facilitation. He also informed that 11-seater electric microbuses have not been left so far and requested to take initiative for this.
At the end of the discussion, Director General Bhusal said that homework is being done between the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Infrastructure Development and the Ministry of Home Affairs regarding the modality of what facilities and concessions the government will provide to the affected businessmen. NADA Vice Presidents Abhik Jyoti and Bikram Singhania, Secretary Meghraj Poudel were also present in the meeting.
