Kathmandu. The Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) has said that its serious attention has been drawn to the suspension of share trading today citing technical problems.
The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) has suspended the trading of 72 stock brokers on September 19 due to a technical problem in the data center. The Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) has said that it has taken serious note of this issue.
The Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) has also directed the government to conduct necessary study and inquiry into the circumstances that led to the halt of share trading and submit a report with corrections to prevent such incidents from happening again.
Similarly, a 5-member inspection team led by the Deputy Executive Director of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) has been deputed to find out the technical problems immediately after receiving information from NEPSE regarding the suspension of transactions. The Securities Board has also promised to take further actions to make the share market healthy, safe and transparent in the coming days based on the suggestions submitted by the deputed team.
