Nepal Engineering College donates Rs 10 lakh to flood victims

Kathmandu. Nepal Engineering College has donated Rs 10,02,643 to the Prime Minister’s Natural Disaster Relief Fund with the aim of supporting the relief and rehabilitation of the people affected by the Bhotekoshi floods. The college has handed over the amount collected from the professors, staff and the college itself to the fund in solidarity with the affected communities during the difficult time of the disaster.

On Monday, a team led by the college’s principal Durga Prasad Bhandari reached the Ministry of Finance and handed over the cheque to Finance Minister Dr. Mahesh Pujara, media relations officer of the college. Receiving the donation, Finance Minister Dr. Wagle expressed his gratitude to Nepal Engineering College for supporting the government in this hour of crisis.

The college has said that it has been providing assistance as part of its social responsibility at a time when the Bhotekoshi floods have caused huge loss of life and property and the affected families need immediate relief and long-term rehabilitation. The college has expressed its solidarity and support to all those affected by the floods, stating that it is its responsibility to stand with the community in this hour of crisis.

According to the college, the amount has been collected by raising additional support from the college along with the contribution of professors and staff. The amount has been provided with the belief that it will support the relief, rescue and rehabilitation campaign conducted by the state and related agencies in the disaster.

With the sentiment that “it is our social responsibility to stand with the affected citizens during the time of disaster,” the college has taken the assistance not only as a financial contribution but also as an expression of solidarity with the affected communities. The college has stressed that all parties should unite and help in the rehabilitation and return of the people affected by the disaster to normal life.

Nepal Engineering College is not only an educational institution that produces technical manpower but also a non-profit social educational institution that gives priority to social responsibility. The college, located in Changunarayan, Bhaktapur, has been conducting undergraduate and postgraduate level studies in various engineering subjects.

This college, affiliated to Pokhara University, has given special priority to the practical and practical learning of the students along with quality technical education.
