KATHMANDU: The government has intensified search, rescue and relief operations in the coastal areas and affected areas since this morning following the massive floods in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa district. The Nepal Army has already reached the relief materials such as foodstuffs, tents and medicines to the affected areas last night to help the people at risk.
Along with the security agencies, the private sector has also been involved in the rescue and search operation. As soon as the floods occurred yesterday, the rescue operation was started by mobilizing helicopters of the army and private sector along with the teams of Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police. The army team continued the rescue operation from land throughout the night.
Since this morning, Nepal Army and private sector helicopters as well as infantry teams have been actively mobilized in Timure, Syafrubesi and the riverine areas. The government has urged the people living along the river banks to be on high alert and focused the entire machinery on relief and rescue.
