Urged to provide security to ensure uninterrupted business

Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) has urged the government to provide security to the industrialists and businessmen to carry out their business unhindered.

Issuing a press release today, the federation made this request. “There have been incidents of vandalism and arson in the industries, establishments, offices and residences of some industrialists and entrepreneurs in the recent developments. “The FNJ condemns such incidents of vandalism on personal and business property,” reads the statement. Billions of rupees have been damaged in industries and business establishments across the country. Although the FNCCI is collecting more details on the matter, it is estimated that the damage will have a serious impact on revenue and GDP. ’

Likewise, the Federation said that if the activities of the private sector could not be carried out smoothly, there would be more problems in the economy and there would be negative impact on revenue in the coming days. “The FNJ is ready to coordinate and cooperate to maintain good governance by ending confusion for the country’s prosperity. The FNCCI has urged the government to make arrangements for peace and security to run the enterprises and businesses unhindered as the private sector is the main source of the budget required for the reconstruction and reconstruction in the coming days,” the statement reads. The federation represents about 6 lakh small, medium and large industrialists and businessmen across the country through district, municipal, commodity, associate and other membership. ’

The Federation has also urged to facilitate the movement of essential services and professionals and goods such as medicines, foodgrains, milk, water, fruits, vegetables, petroleum products, etc. even during the time of prohibitory orders and curfew. The FNCCI urges the participation of representatives of FNCCI and FNCCI member chambers of commerce and industry in the security committee to be held at the central, provincial and district levels.

Similarly, the federation has also urged all the industrialists and entrepreneurs across the country to ensure regular supply of quality goods and not to create a shortage in the market.

The FNCCI has expressed concern over the closure of many customs points despite the resumption of international airports. “The FNCCI also urges the government to create an environment conducive for the import and export of essential goods by providing security at the customs points,” the FNCCI said in the statement. ’

A meeting with the FNCCI’s executive committee and former presidents on Wednesday also discussed these issues and decided to make the views of the private sector public. “Decent employment with high wages is possible only by creating an environment of high economic growth along with social justice,” the FNCCI has said, urging all to contribute to building a prosperous society by creating an environment conducive for investment and employment promotion. ’

The youth have shown interest in good governance, corruption control, freedom of speech, decent employment, self-employment and utilization of revenue, among others, the FNCCI stated. For this, the federation expects that the country will move ahead in the journey of prosperity as per the aspirations of the younger generation by the judicious descent of the evolving developments.

The FNJ has expressed deep sorrow over the loss of life and property during the agitation and demonstration across the country. “We express heartfelt tribute to those who lost their lives in course of the agitation and extend condolences to the families of the deceased,” the FNJ said in a statement. ’
