A meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Friday decided to appoint Pandey to the post of board member, said NRA Chairman Janak Sharma. Pandey is a retired secretary of the Government of Nepal. He has also served as a director of the Insurance Authority as a representative of the Ministry of Finance.

Out of the five-member board of NEA, there were only three members in the recent period, which was reduced to just 2 members after the tenure of Santosh Rijal last month. The board of directors of NEA could not hold its meeting since December 3 as there were only two members.
