Kathmandu. The decision to make the national identity card number mandatory for opening bank accounts in the name of children and for share transactions has increased unnecessary expenses on the heads of ordinary parents.
Banks, financial institutions and institutions licensed by the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) have compelled the guardians or guardians to submit birth registration certificates mentioning the national identity card number for carrying out transactions in the name of children.
Those who have already paid a fee at the local level have to pay additional fees to get a copy of their birth registration by including the national identity card number. Parents who have to pay Rs 200 for birth registration will have to pay up to Rs 500 service charge to get a copy of the birth registration including the national identity card number.
The government has implemented the provision of national identity card number. In order to implement this, ordinary parents have to pay unnecessary service charges at the local level.
