In a video released through a reel of social media Facebook, the workers of Bhatbhateni are seen removing the debris without shedding tears in order to keep the flames of hope in the Bhatbhateni super store.

Hardly anyone could have imagined the brutal repression of the movement by the state on Monday and the devastation that took place under the cover of the demonstration the next day in response.TAG_CLOSE_a_64 TAG_OPEN_a_64 Hardly anyone had thought that such a big blow would come to the business legacy of Min Bahadur Gurung, an entrepreneur who emerged from the soil of Nepal and handed over everything in Nepal.

Demonstrators targeted Bhatbhateni Superstore, a big business establishment with the domestic capital of the private sector. 21 of the 28 superstores were burnt down by the attackers.

Both the public and private sectors suffered huge losses as the crowd erupted on Wednesday in anger over the killing of unarmed students in the protests. The damaged physical infrastructure may be rebuilt sooner or later, but it will not be possible to compensate for the wounds of the hearts of Nepalis, the unpleasant decisions and losses that entrepreneurs can take with a weak mentality.

Apart from seven other 21 superstores including Tokha, Satdobato, Anamnagar, Sanagaun, World Trade Center and Patan, the rest of the 21 superstores were badly damaged. Twelve of the 21 superstores were gutted in the fire. The attackers have torched Naxal, Maharajgunj, Koteshwor, Boudha, Pokhara, Baluwatar Godam, Pokhara, Bharatpur, Hetauda, Birtamod, Damak, Biratnagar and Dharan.

Similarly, theft, robbery and vandalism took place in Kalanki, Thimi, Balaju, Janakpur, Butwal, Birgunj, Dhangadhi and Bhairahawa.

Migrant workers who depend on Bhatbhateni for a livelihood have been wiping away ashes since Thursday, trying to power the superstore’s seemingly dead-end structure.

It will take a few months for Bhatbhateni Superstore, which caters to the needs of millions of Nepalis from kitchen to living room.

Despite the illusion that the saboteurs have damaged Min Bahadur Gurung’s personal property, the blood and sweat of the common people have been invested to perpetuate Bhatbhateni’s legacy. The bank has invested the money earned by the common people in Bhatbhateni as a loan.

Bhat Bhateni had a turnover of Rs 35 billion a year, making it possible for many to get mud in their mouths. The state had got high taxes, goods easily accessible to consumers, wages to workers, banks to secure loans, and easy trade for industrialists and businessmen. But the destroyer turned everything to ashes in one day.

The sooner Bhatbhateni returns to his old state, the longer the bank’s loan will be repaid, and the bank’s principal and interest recovery schedule will also be postponed.

Thousands of people, including security guards, sales girls, drivers, laborers, local producers, farmers, who depend on Bhatbhateni for their livelihood, must be crying.

Bhatbhateni is sharing his message through social media with some powerful words to keep a ray of hope in the minds of the Bhatbhateni family and their dependents, Bhatbhateni is saying, Bhat-Bhateni will rise again.

Sad moments passed, but hope has not been lost.

Even though our shop is destroyed today, we feel stronger with your support. 🙏

Thousands of helping hands clean up, wiping away tears, and giving us the strength to get up again.

The bard will rise again.

Together with you, we will make the future brighter.
