Kathmandu. Non-life insurance companies have to pay around Rs 4.19 billion for a total of 799 insurance claims due to incessant rains and landslides since October 3. Out of this, the companies have so far paid only Rs 19.64 crore out of a total of 209 claims to the insured, according to the updated data of the Insurance Authority.
As many as 13 non-life insurance companies and two micro non-life insurance companies have to pay Rs 3.58 billion for 419 initial claims. Out of these, 53 insurance claims have been paid so far. Rs 16.44 crore has been paid.
Similarly, 107 insurance claims under engineering and contractual risk insurance have been disbursed for around Rs. Out of the Rs 52.30 crore to be paid, the companies have to pay about Rs 9 crore for 9 claims. Rs 1.4 crore has been paid.
Similarly, about 217 initial insurance claims have been received towards agriculture and crop insurance. Rs 4.17 crore has to be paid. Out of these claims, 127 claims are about Rs. 50 lakhs, 40 claims towards motor insurance (private) about Rs. Out of the claim amount of Rs 2.82 crore, a total of 17 claims have been paid for about Rs. Rs 1.27 crore has been paid. Similarly, for marine insurance, 4 initial insurance claims are about Rs. Out of the 10 lakh 65 thousand to be paid, about Rs. 10 lakh for 3 claims. It has been found that 3,27,000 claims have been paid.
In the motor insurance (public) category, a total of 10 claims are about Rs. Rs. 1.19 crore and about Rs. 1.19 crore for two initial claims towards micro insurance. The initial insurance claim amount of Rs 12 lakh is yet to be paid.
