Kathmandu. The Supreme Court (SC) has directed the government not to make public the report on the sale and purchase of shares of Ncell Axiata.

The probe committee formed under the coordination of Tankmani Sharma Dangal had submitted its report to the government on January 28, 2080. After Axiata sold 80 percent stake in Ncell to a paper company owned by Non-Resident Nepali Satish Lal Acharya, the government had investigated the government after suspecting tax evasion.

A single bench of Justice Bal Krishna Dhakal issued the directive to the government not to make the report public, citing the reason for business confidentiality and personal confidentiality of the company.

Recently, the Supreme Court had ruled that the transfer of share ownership without regulatory approval would be illegal.
