These past few days have been one of the most painful in our company’s history. It started as a youth movement demanding accountability and change. This well-intentioned movement was infiltrated by goons and external forces. The peaceful call for a better Nepal turned into violence, looting and destruction.
We have seen heartbreaking cruelty. Our president was personally targeted. Our family’s homes were attacked and burned. Our factories and offices were damaged. Our showrooms were looted.
Decades of hard work, sacrifice and commitment turned into fire in a matter of hours. It wasn’t just an invasion of property. It was also an attack on hope, faith and the idea of building something meaningful for our nation.
Yet in these darkest hours, something extraordinary happened. The true spirit of CG emerged from the fire and chaos. I have read and listened to the reports of our leaders, managers and employees. Those who risked their safety. Working day and night, saving as much as possible, protecting our assets and most importantly fulfilling the promise of CG to our customers. Even in the face of fire, our people did not give up.
To each and every one of you who stood firm when everything was falling apart around you, I salute you. You have shown the world what CG really is. It is not just a company but also a family bound together by resilience, loyalty, and courage. Hope is alive because of you. When the right time comes, we will come together to recognize and celebrate your service, your sacrifice, and your strength.
Yes, we are sad. Yes, we are shaken. But we are not broken. These goons can burn down our buildings, but they can’t burn our dreams. They can loot our showrooms, but they can’t rob us of our prices. They may try to weaken us, but they cannot break the unity of our family.
We also need to remember who we are. Chaudhary Group is one of Nepal’s largest taxpayers, one of the largest employers and a nation builder. Be it earthquakes, floods or pandemics, we have stood at the forefront for our people in every crisis. The campaign is not over yet. This responsibility has not wavered. The objective is still murky.
We will rebuild. We will recover and we will come out stronger than ever. Newness will come out of this tragedy. A new power, a new idea, a new system and a deeper commitment to the people of Nepal.
History will not remember the fire that consumed us. History will remember how we emerged from them – stronger, prouder and united than ever before.
