Kathmandu. Mr. Khilendra Poudel, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of IME Life Insurance Limited, has been honored with the prestigious ‘Excellence in Financial Services & Digital Innovation Award–2025,’ a recognition that underscores his visionary leadership and transformative contributions to Nepal’s financial and insurance sector.
The award was formally presented to Mr. Poudel on Monday during a grand ceremony by former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda,’ on behalf of the organizing institution.
Organizers highlighted that Mr. Poudel was selected for his trailblazing role in driving digital transformation, pioneering innovative practices in insurance, and championing customer-centric financial services. His career reflects an enduring commitment to redefining financial accessibility and modernizing traditional business models.
Before joining IME Life Insurance as Deputy CEO a year ago, Mr. Poudel successfully led IME Remittance as Chief Executive Officer, where he played a pivotal role in expanding the reach of financial services for millions of Nepalis at home and abroad.
At IME Life, his leadership has already produced tangible results — from expanding financial inclusion and accelerating the adoption of digital premium payment systems to enhancing customer experience through innovation and positioning the company at the forefront of Nepal’s evolving insurance landscape.
Adding to his professional achievements, Mr. Poudel recently published a scholarly article titled “Resuscitating Life Insurance in Nepal: An Analysis of Sectoral Constraints and Reform Pathways” in the International Journal for Multidisciplinary Research (IJFMR) (https://www.ijfmr.com/papers/2025/4/54472.pdf) further establishing his thought leadership in the sector.
