Kathmandu. The Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) has formed a Primary Market Reform Facilitation Task Force.
The task force has been formed under the coordination of the Executive Director of the Securities Board of Nepal’s Regulation Department. According to the Securities Board of Nepal, the task force has been formed with the objective of making the primary market more transparent, credible and investor-friendly.
The seven-member task force includes three employees from the Securities Board of Nepal, one representative of Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), president of Merchant Bankers Association of Nepal, Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) and coordinator of capital market committee. The taskforce may call experts from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal (ICAN), Electricity Regulatory Commission (ERC), Independent Power Producers’ Association, Nepal (EPPAN), Stock Brokers Association of Nepal, CDSC and other stakeholder organizations as per the need.
FY 2083. The first meeting of the task force formed to implement the regulatory reforms under the capital market policy of ’84 BS was held at the office of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) on Tuesday to discuss the reform of the primary market. The main terms of reference of the task force are the policy of improvement of the primary market, public issue of securities, book building, merchant banker, IPO allotment, digital IPO, IPO qualification, IPO price, institutional investors, anchor investors, due diligence, post issue monitoring and other issues related to the primary market.
