Kathmandu. The Council of Ministers formed under the leadership of Balendra Shah has decided to form a high-powered ‘Property Investigation Committee’ within 15 days to end corruption and impunity.
According to the government’s agenda, this committee will be in the first phase. The government will investigate the properties of political officials and high-ranking officials holding public office since 2062/63 BS.
Former government ministers, prime ministers, personal secretaries, people holding various political positions and employees from transport, revenue investigation, customs, customs, police, regulatory bodies and other officials will be drawn in the committee.
The meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Government of Nepal on March 29, 2082 has given priority to the investigation of corruption in the ‘One Hundred Agenda’ for governance reforms.
The government has announced to upgrade the services related to passport, citizenship and national identity card to a unified digital system to provide middlemen-free services to the citizens in order to make public administration corruption-free.
The government plans to launch the ‘Government Courier Service’ within the next 100 days to deliver documents like passport and license at the doorstep of the country through postal service. In addition, a 24-hour National Citizen Assistance and Grievance Management System will be brought into operation.
The government has come up with these reform plans keeping in mind the mandate received from the general election of March 4, 2002 and the spirit of the J-G movement.
The government has decided to reduce the number of federal ministries to 17 within 30 days. In order to free the bureaucracy from political interference, the party has set a target to dissolve the trade unions and formulate the Federal Civil Service Bill within 45 days.
Investment & Entrepreneurship Promotion
A ‘Startup Fast Track’ system will be implemented to promote entrepreneurship and arrangements will be made to register the business within two days. According to the document, the registration fee for registration of enterprises up to Rs 250 million will be abolished and the risk burden on the credit flow of small and medium enterprises will be reduced.
Justice for the injured and martyred families of the movement
A high-level committee will be formed within a week to investigate the incidents that took place during the 2082 Bhadra movement. The government has pledged to implement a package for the families of martyrs and injured within 100 days, including employment, skill development and rehabilitation assistance.
The implementation of these agendas will be monitored regularly by the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.
