Kathmandu. On the occasion of World Water Day, Siddhartha Bank organized ‘Walk for Water, Walk for Life’. The bank has organized this year as well as a continuation of the walkathon programme initiated last year on the occasion of World Water Day.
Celebrated every year on March 22, World Water Day aims to raise awareness worldwide for the sustainable management of water resources, highlighting the importance of clean water.
The 2026 slogan, “Water and Gender”, underscores the need to ensure equal participation and rights in access and management of water to promote safe water, sanitation and gender equality. In solidarity with this global slogan, Siddhartha Bank aims to spread the message of ensuring access to safe water and sanitation as well as promoting gender equality.
On the occasion of World Water Day, the bank plans to install 9 water purifier systems in public places across the country and also conduct cleanliness campaign around water bodies in the current fiscal year.
Through this initiative, the bank aims to contribute to public health promotion by providing clean and safe drinking water to the people and strengthen inclusive access as emphasized by slogan.
On the occasion, the bank organized a 5-km morning rally from Naxal Narayanchaur to Naxal via Hattisar, Putalisadak, Bagbazaar, Ratnapark, Jamal, Durbar Marg, Gairidhara and back to Naxal with placards highlighting the importance of water utilization, sanitation and gender equality.
