Kathmandu. President of Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI), Birendra Raj Pandey, said production-based industries were necessary to increase consumption.
He said this while delivering the welcome address at the 24th General Meeting and 8th Convention of IPPAN.
“We have set a target of generating 30,000 MW in next 10 years. There is a need for production-oriented industries to increase consumption,”
he said.
Pandey also said that the issue of opening up the private sector in electricity trade and transmission line construction is a welcome move.
He also said that there should be no delay in restructuring the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA).
