Kathmandu. The health social security agency BPJS Kesehatan has cancelled government subsidies for health insurance premiums of more than 11 million Indonesians.
The action was initiated after the Ministry of Social Affairs reviewed the grant recipient data. It revealed that Indonesians no longer met the eligibility criteria for grants.
The cancellation of the grant affected the participants registered under the Contribution Assistance Beneficiaries (PBI) scheme. Speaking to the media, Ali Gufron Mukti, Chairman Director of BPJS Kesehatan, said, “The data we have obtained shows that about 11 million people are no longer eligible. Therefore, their participation has been deactivated. ’
According to Mukti, only the Ministry of Social Affairs has the authority to determine whether someone is eligible for the contributory assistance.
According to media reports, the Indonesian government is currently modifying the registration system for social assistance recipients by implementing a single national socioeconomic data, or DTSEN. It serves as the only reference for all government assistance programs. –Agency
