Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: The Independent Power Producers’ Association of Nepal (IPPAN) has elected a new executive committee under the chairmanship of Mohan Kumar Dangi.
The 24th annual general meeting of IPPAN held in Kathmandu on Saturday formed a new working committee. As per the Article 15 (12) of the amended statute, the senior vice-president of the organization shall automatically be the chairperson. According to this provision, Dangi has automatically become the chairman.
Similarly, Uttam Blon has been elected senior vice-president while Uttar Kumar Shrestha, Narendra Ballav Panta, Bikram Bista, Susan Karmacharya and Him Prasad Pathak have been elected unopposed to the post of senior vice-president.
Teknath Acharya (TN Acharya) has been elected the general secretary of the new working committee while Kabita Pokharel has been elected the deputy general secretary of the new working committee while Abhidnya Malla, Isha Shrestha, Kubermani Nepal, Bijay Mohan Bhattarai and Suman Kumari Joshi have been elected unopposed.
An election was held for the post of treasurer of the executive committee. Shankar Basyal garnered 267 votes. His nearest rival was Mithun Chakraborty Prasad Poudel who got 82 votes.
Similarly, Anup Acharya, Kadam KC, Jagdish Shiwakoti, Jagat Bahadur Pokharel, Narayan Kandel, Milan Khadka and Barna Lamichhane have been elected unopposed.
