On the one hand, US and Israeli attacks are continuous, and on the other hand, Iran is constantly taking revenge. Apart from this, after Hezbollah, Yemen’s Houthi rebels have also been directly involved in this conflict. Which is significantly expanding the scope of the war.
However, the intensity of the Israeli attack remains unchanged. Initially, military bases were targeted. Since then, there have been attacks on power plants and nuclear sites. However, the recent attack on Tehran University has brought tensions to a crescendo. The university campus was severely damaged in the attack and rescue operations are currently underway amidst the rubble.
It is understood that Iran’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) has reacted sharply to this incident. It has warned that Israeli universities could also be targeted in response to this attack. It is worth noting that Iran had already signaled its military strategy by firing missiles at the Israeli city of Dimona 24 hours after the attack on the Natanz nuclear facility.
As part of this counterstrategy, Iran has firmly held its ground. The missiles fired by the Houthi rebels from the desert of Yemen pose a new challenge not only for the United States but also for Israel. With Hezbollah already stationed in Lebanon, Israel is now facing military pressure from many quarters.
In the midst of all this, the Strait of Hormuz has become the most important center of this conflict. As it serves as a major oil supply route for the world, Iran’s strong presence there has created significant difficulties for the United States. However, the US military is working to break Iran’s blockade on this route. The reality is that tensions are increasing rather than decreasing. For this reason, the US has significantly increased its military power in the Middle East.
According to U.S. Central Command, the USS Tripoli, a modern warship carrying about 2,500 Marine commandos, has arrived in the area of operation. In addition, the USS Boxer and other warships have been ordered to deploy to the area immediately.
Amid these massive military preparations, discussions on ground action against Iran have also intensified. According to reports, there is a long-term plan in Washington to encircle Iran.
Meanwhile, officials such as US Secretary of State Marco Rubio say the war could end within weeks.
Currently, the US claims to have damaged more than 11,000 Iranian targets as part of Operation Epic Fury. On the contrary, Iran has vehemently denied these claims and has stepped up its attacks.
