Kathmandu. On the occasion of International Women’s Day-2026 on March 8, Lions Club of Kathmandu Blood Hood organized a special felicitation of 11 women who have made incomparable contribution to the society. On the occasion, 100 women volunteers and women election police and Nepal Police were also honoured for their social work in collaboration with Lions International. A total of 111 women were honoured, Shrestha said.
On the occasion of the 116th International Women’s Day, Bhawani Rana was the chief guest of the event. According to founder president of the organization, Lion Rajib Shrestha, the women’s bike rally could not be held this year due to the election to the House of Representatives and security reasons. On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the brand ambassador of the organization, Lion Yuba Magar informed that the Miss Lion pageant will be held in the month of August and applications have been opened for its participation and inauguration.
On the occasion, advisor of the organization and former district governor Lion Nira Bajracharya felicitated Yusha Magar, Lion Amrita Lama and First Lady Lion Sushila Shrestha and wished for the continued progress of the organization.
Lion Trija Dhakal, Cabinet Secretary of Lions International District 325K Nepal expressed her best wishes through poetry. He also wished the organization good luck with its future action plan and said that the district will always support Miss Lions International Pageant and will be with us in every program of bloodhood.
