Kathmandu. In the last one year, more than 500 employees have been added to the insurance companies.
According to the Insurance Reflection released by the Nepal Insurance Authority, insurance companies in the current fiscal year 2082. As of December 1988, there are 12,339 employees. This number was last fiscal year 2081. This is 4.41 percent or 521 more than in November 2018. Insurance companies had 11,818 employees in the same period last year.
There are 6,082 employees in life insurance companies and 6,257 employees in non-life insurance companies as of mid-December of the current fiscal year. There were 5,882 employees in life insurance companies and 5,936 employees in non-life insurance companies as of mid-December last year. The number of employees in life insurers and 5.41 percent in non-life insurers increased by 3.4 percent in the review period compared to the previous year.
Similarly, the number of offices of insurance companies has increased to 3,010 till December of the current fiscal year. It was 0.64 percent more than the previous year. As of December last year, there were 2,991 offices of insurance companies.
Currently, there are 1,850 life insurers and 1,160 non-life insurers across the country. Last year, there were 1,830 life insurers and 1,161 non-life insurers. In the review period of the previous year, the number of offices of life insurers increased by 1.09 percent while that of non-life insurers increased by 0.09 percent.
