Kathmandu. The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has directed the government to adopt all measures to ease the distribution of petroleum products.
Issuing a press release today, NHRC Under-Secretary Shyam Babu Kafle directed the government to take necessary initiatives to regulate the tendency of storing unnecessary supplies and protect the rights of consumers by making arrangements for the supply of essential goods.
The Commission also monitored the Nepal Oil Corporation, the Department of Commerce, Nepal Food Management Company Limited and other depots selling and distributing gas. “From the monitoring and observation, Nepal is mainly dependent on imports for the supply of petroleum products and the raw materials required to be imported for this are being supplied regularly,” the press release said.
