Kathmandu. The demand for car loans has started increasing in banks. It has been found that the demand for car loans from banks for personal purposes has increased more than for business purposes.
According to the data of Nepal Rastra Bank, an additional Rs 4.7 billion 4.7 billion 4.7 million vehicle loans have been disbursed from banks till the second quarter (Shrawan-Pus) of the current fiscal year. Which is 3.8 percent more than the same period last year.
A total of Rs 128 billion 807.2 million vehicle loans have been disbursed from banks till the Pous of the current fiscal year. As of last Ashar, banks had disbursed Rs 124 billion 100 million 24 million in car loans.
As of December 2018, banks have disbursed Rs 86 billion 78 million 18 million in car loans for commercial purposes, while Rs 42 billion 25 million 18 million in car loans for personal purposes. As of last Ashar, banks had disbursed Rs 87 billion 260 million 11 million for commercial purposes and Rs 36 billion 840 million 13 million for personal purposes under the title of car loans.
Compared to last Ashar, car loans disbursed by banks for commercial purposes decreased by 0.5 percent, while loans disbursed for personal purposes increased by 14.1 percent.
