Dipak Kumar Malhotra leads new executive committee of Mobile Phone Importers Association

Kathmandu. The tenth annual general meeting of the Mobile Phone Importers Association was held in Kathmandu today. The general meeting has unanimously elected a new board of directors under the chairmanship of Deepak Kumar Malhotra.

At the beginning of the AGM, President Deepak Kumar Malhotra welcomed all the office bearers and members present. After this, Vice President Sanjay Agrawal presented the annual work progress report of the Association and Treasurer Prabhakar Shumsher Thapa presented the annual income and expenditure statement.

In the meeting, the members presented their views, suggestions and ideas regarding the performance of the Association, the current challenges seen in the mobile phone business sector, common problems of the entrepreneurs and the future course of action of the Association.

The new board of directors was elected unanimously through the election process held after the general meeting. Sanjay Agrawal has been elected as vice-president, Prabhakar Shumsher Thapa as secretary and Rakshit Kumar Bhimsariya as treasurer.

Likewise, Sunil Agrawal, Pulkit Bhimsariya, Nitesh Kumar Mundra, Pragyat Timilsina and Anmitra Sharma have been elected as board members.

After the election, the newly elected President Dipak Kumar Malhotra expressed his gratitude to all the members and office-bearers who helped to provide new leadership to the Association unanimously. He expressed his commitment to move forward with effective coordination and collaboration with the concerned government bodies and stakeholders to make the mobile phone business more systematic, dignified, transparent and accountable and to solve the common problems of the businessmen.

Similarly, the newly elected vice-president Sanjay Agrawal said that along with the institutional strengthening of the association, the sustainable development of the mobile phone business sector and the creation of a systematic market would be prioritized in the future. According to him, the main priorities of the association will be improvement in the distribution system and market management of mobile phones, control of illegal import of grey market and effective promotion of MDMS, coordination and cooperation with umbrella organizations, protection of rights of entrepreneurs and promotion of consumer interests.

He also expressed his commitment that the Association would play active role in making the mobile phone business systematic, transparent and competitive by making collaboration and coordination among the private sector, government bodies and related stakeholders more effective to solve the challenges in the business sector.
