Kathmandu. The Department of Money Laundering has arrested CPN-UML vice-chair Bishnu Poudel from Surkhet for investigation. According to party sources, Poudel was on his way to Surkhet to participate in the UML’s election review and organization restructuring.
A team from the District Police Office, Surkhet arrested him acting on a letter from the department.
According to the department, Poudel has been arrested for investigation on the charge of amassing undisclosed assets and suspicious share transactions.
CPN-UML Secretary Mahesh Basnet has condemned the arrest of the party vice-chair and demanded that the government arrest him only on the basis of solid evidences and evidences.
