Kathmandu. Navratri has started from October 25. The great festival of Nepal, Bada Dashain, which starts every year from Ashwin Shukla Pratipada, has started from today. On the first day of Navratri, Ghatasthapana is performed in every house. Bada Dashain is believed to start from Ashwin Shukla Pratipada. According to the Nepal Calendar Determination Development Committee, it is best to perform Ghatasthapana at 11:47 am today.
On this day, Chitra Nakshatra and Vaidhriti Yoga fall and Ghatasthapana will be considered scriptural, as Chitra Nakshatra and Vaidhriti Yoga should be performed with peace before Ghatasthapana. Bada Dashain is celebrated with great pomp for 15 days till Ashwin Shukla Purnima. On the first day of Bada Dashain, Ghatasthapana is performed in the puja rooms and Dashain houses of the house with the installation of lamps, urns and Ganesha.
