Kathmandu. An agreement has been signed between Nepal Engineering College and Creative Nepal to provide scholarships to engineering students. An educational agreement has been signed between the college operating as a non-profit social educational institution and Creative Nepal, active in the field of education and children, with the aim of providing access to engineering education to the bright, hardworking students.
The MoU was signed by the college’s assistant principal Mohan Dhoj KC and Creative Nepal secretary Netra Prasad Upadhyay. Handing over the memorandum of understanding (MoU) to the college on Wednesday, Creative Nepal Secretary Upadhyay said that the MoU has played an important role in providing engineering education to the girl students who are deserving of higher education but are financially and familially weak. As per the agreement, the organization will provide all the scholarships to one girl student.
Mohan Dhoj KC, assistant principal of the college, said that the institute has provided a full scholarship to a girl student studying architecture for the current academic session. He praised the contribution of the institution in establishing the access of poor and disadvantaged girls to engineering education. According to the college, the college has also waived the fees of the 5-year course of architecture and the rest of the amount has been borne by Creative Nepal.
Being a non-profit social educational institution, the college has been providing scholarships worth Rs 15 crore in various disciplines of engineering every year. Creative Nepal has given an opportunity to the children who are talented, financially and financially weak, to pursue higher education. The organization is studying more than 55 students on scholarships in various colleges of Kathmandu.
