Nabil SSE Fellowship Invites Applications for Group VII and Certificate Course

KATHMANDU: Nabil Bank Limited has invited applications for the seventh batch of Nabil School of Social Entrepreneurship (Nabil SSE) Fellowship Programme and a new batch of Nabil SSE Certificate Course.

The bank has invited applications for both the programs being run under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program on Tuesday, September 19. Interested applicants can apply till October 12, 2020.

Nepali citizens who are up to 18 years of age and have innovative entrepreneurial ideas can apply. After the application, those who are selected will have to maintain at least 90 percent attendance in the program.

The bank has been conducting these programs in continuation with its commitment to promote entrepreneurship as a means to contribute to inclusive and sustainable economic development.

The bank will encourage committed and capable entrepreneurs from women, youth, poor, marginalized and marginalized communities to apply, with the aim of creating sustainable enterprises and employment as well as contributing to the broader community development.

Mr. Manoj Kumar Gyawali, CEO of Nabil Bank said, “Nabil SSE is not only investing in enterprises but also in building the capacity of those who can create sustainable economic opportunity within their communities.

“As we open our applications to the seventh fellowship cohort and new cohort of certificate courses, we aim to identify committed entrepreneurs, build their capacities, and connect them with the knowledge, networks, and entrepreneurship ecosystem needed to build sustainable enterprises and contribute to inclusive economic growth in Nepal,” CEO Gyewali shared.

According to the bank, 1,580 participants have been trained so far through the fellowship program and certificate course. The trainees have established 318 enterprises and created direct and indirect employment and livelihood opportunities for 19,303 people.

So far, 113 people have been trained from 6 groups completed through the fellowship program. According to the bank, 93 fellow-led enterprises are in operation. Similarly, 1,467 participants have benefited from the certificate course. In addition, 225 enterprises have been established, according to the bank.

Established in 2021 as Nabil Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, Nabil SSE Fellowship provides aspiring and existing entrepreneurs with the knowledge, skills, resources, networks and financial access opportunities they need to grow their businesses. According to the Bank, through two complementary programs, namely the Fellowship Program and the Certificate Course, Nabil SSE combines practical entrepreneurship with mentorship, experience sharing opportunities, peer learning, academic partnerships, and engagement with the broader entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The Nabil SSE Fellowship Program, conducted in collaboration with the School of Management under the Faculty of Management, Tribhuvan University, is a 6-month enterprise development program. It will help the participants to build the necessary capacity for the development, strengthening and expansion of their enterprises.

Similarly, the Nabil SSE Certificate Course is a three-month practical entrepreneurship development program. It targets students, aspiring entrepreneurs, early-stage founders and micro and small entrepreneurs. The program provides the necessary knowledge for identifying opportunities, testing business concepts, building practical business models, and strengthening the enterprise.

This year, applications for the certificate course have been opened through 10 educational implementation partner organizations across the country. Mahendra Morang Adarsha Multiple Campus in Koshi Province, Birgunj Public College and Monastic Secondary English Boarding School in Madhesh Province, Campion College and Budhanilkantha School in Bagmati Province, Dibyajyoti Multiple Campus, Kshitij International College and Kohalpur Model College in Lumbini Province, Surkhet Model College in Karnali Province and Far-Western Academy in Sudurpaschim Province.
