Kathmandu. US President Donald Trump has announced an unprecedented and drastic economic campaign against Iran. “I gave Iran the maximum opportunity to make a deal, but Iran failed to take advantage of it,” Trump wrote on his social media platform TruthSocial. ’
President Donald Trump said today that he would announce the toughest economic action ever taken against any country. “This will be a full-scale economic war and a campaign to isolate Iran,” he said.
Trump repeated his earlier statement that Iran’s military and economic power would be weakened. He also warned that any country that provided any kind of financial support to Iran through its financial institutions, businesses, airports or government agencies would suffer significant economic losses.
Trump specifically mentioned activities such as oil smuggling, movement of oil tankers, cash transfers, use of currency exchange companies and registration of ships in the name of shell companies. At the end of his statement, Trump compared the operation to the landing of U.S. troops in Normandy during World War II. He also urged America’s allies to help the United States remove the threat from Iran.
