Kathmandu. Indian Army Chief General Dhiraj Seth paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Balendra Shah at the latter’s residence in Baluwatar on Monday.
Seth paid a courtesy call on PM Shah at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers at Singha Durbar today. Indian Ambassador to Nepal Navin Srivastava was also present during the meeting.
Seth arrived here on Sunday on a four-day official visit at the invitation of Chief of Army Staff Ashok Raj Sigdel. President Ram Chandra Poudel conferred the honorary rank of General of the Nepal Army to General Seth on Monday.
Since 1950, Nepal and India have been conferring the rank of honorary General of the Indian Army Staff on each other’s army chiefs. Earlier on Monday, General Sigdel and Army Chief Seth held bilateral meetings.
