More than 40 countries, including Canada, India, Mexico, Japan, South Korea and India, have helped China evade US tariffs by sending Chinese goods through countries with low import tariffs, the report said. According to the White House, China has tried to evade billions of dollars of US tariffs through these countries.
According to US trade adviser Peter Navarro, the system has destroyed American jobs and billions of dollars in income.
“No one wins in a trade war,” a spokesman for the Chinese embassy in Washington told the BBC. He opposed U.S. tariff measures and the use of government power to target Chinese companies.
“Any unilateral actions or agreements with transshipment goods should not harm the interests of third countries,” he said. –Agency
